Course Outlines

Basic Hydstra - 2 days

The Basic Hydstra training course is for people who are new to Hydstra.  It covers all the basic concepts and applications to get you started.

Basic WISKI - 2 days

The Basic WISKI training course is for people who are new to WISKI.  It covers all the basic concepts and applications to get you started.

Topics include:


Prerequisites: none.

 

Advanced Hydstra - 2 days

The Advanced Hydstra training course builds on the Basic Hydstra training course.  It is aimed at experienced Hydstra users who would like to learn about the more advanced elements of the system.

Topics include:

 

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic Hydstra training course and have some practical experience in using the system.

 

Advanced  WISKI - 2 days

The Advanced WISKI training course builds on the Basic WISKI training course.  It is aimed at experienced WISKI users who would like to learn about the more advanced elements of the system.

Topics include:

 

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic WISKI training course and have some practical experience in using the system.

 

Administering Hydstra - 2 days

The Administering Hydstra training course is for data managers who are responsible for administering a Hydstra system.

Topics include:

 

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic Hydstra training course and have extensive practical experience in using the system.  It would be an advantage to have also attended the Advanced Hydstra training course.

 

WISKI Administration - 2 days

The WISKI adminstration training course is for data managers who are responsible for administering a WISKI system.

Topics include:

 

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic WISKI training course and have extensive practical experience in using the system.

 

Administering Hydstra/WEB - 3 days

The Administering Hydstra/WEB training course is aimed at Hydstra administrators who want to publish data to the web using the Hydstra/WEB product.

 

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic Hydstra and Administering Hydstra training courses.  It would be an advantage to have also attended the Advanced Hydstra training course.

 

Hydstra Modelling with MODSYN - 1 day

The Hydstra Modelling with MODSYN training course introduces the MODSYN modelling product.  It covers the basics of the MODSYN modelling language with some practical examples.

Topics include:

 

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic Hydstra training course and have some practical experience in using the system.  Some exposure to programming is highly desirable.

 

Hydstra/SVR Server - 1 day

The Hydstra/SVR training course is aimed at Hydstra Administrators who would like to automate the existing data management processes.

Topics include:

 

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic Hydstra training course and have some practical experience in administering a Hydstra system.

 

Ratings and Gaugings

The Ratings and Gaugings training course explores the tools available in Hydstra for developing and maintaining rating tables and gaugings.

Topics include:

 

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic Hydstra training course and have some practical experience in using the system.

 

Exporting data to the BOM using HYWDTF_OUT

This training course is for Hydstra users who are obliged to send their data to the Bureau of Meteorology.  It steps through the processes required to get your archive into good shape and configure the WDTF export process.

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic Hydstra training course and have some practical experience in using the system.

 

Using Perl with Hydstra

This training course is aimed at Hydstra administrators who wish to raise their skill levels in working with Hydstra.

Groundwater Data Management

This training course introduces the Hydstra/GW data management system.

Topics include:

 

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic Hydstra training course and have some practical experience in using the system.

 

Water Quality Data Management

This training course introduces the Hydstra/WQ data management system.

Topics include:

 

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic Hydstra training course and have some practical experience in using the system.

 

KIWQM (WISKI Water Quality Module)

This training course introduces KIWQM - the water quality data management system of WISKI.

Topics include:

 

Prerequisites: trainees will be expected to have completed the Basic WISKI training course and have some practical experience in using the system.
